132 Fab January 2026 Press Release

132 Fab Engineering & Production Update: Caster Spacer Design

At 132 Fab, every design decision is driven by two priorities: consistent product quality and an excellent customer experience.

As demand for our caster spacers has grown, the primary limitation has shifted from design capability to manufacturing capacity. Our original welded spacers rely on a single experienced welder to maintain consistent quality. That approach has served us well, but scaling it would require additional personnel and introduce variability that is difficult to control in a small production environment.

Rather than expanding welding capacity and accepting that risk, we chose to revise the design itself.

As part of this update, we have transitioned our caster spacers from a welded construction to a bolted assembly. While the original welded spacers remain safe and effective when installed properly, the updated design allows us to control consistency through process rather than individual technique, while also increasing overall strength. High-grade fasteners torqued to a defined specification provide repeatable clamping force, predictable load distribution, and straightforward inspection on every unit, independent of operator skill.

We have also transitioned from painted black steel to a powder-coated finish. While the previous paint performed well in service, powder coating provides improved durability, with better resistance to abrasion and corrosion. This change enhances long-term protection and appearance without affecting fit or function.

The new spacers will ship unassembled. Assembly is straightforward and requires only basic hand tools. Detailed installation instructions and specified torque values are included to ensure proper performance. Based on our experience, all four spacers can be assembled in under 15 minutes.

Overall, this update reflects our continued focus on consistency, scalability, and faster fulfillment, while maintaining the performance our customers expect. Additonally, the revised design significantly reduces labor time. As a result, we are able to move away from the previous four-week lead time and ship orders in a matter of days rather than weeks.

As always, thank you for your continued support and trust. We truly appreciate the confidence you place in 132 Fab and remain committed to delivering products that reflect that trust.
